Ray Hudson

After a lifetime of creating castings in aluminium and bronze l decided to express my ability further by exploring the world of Fine Art.

During a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NewYork, l was impressed by the exhibition of Corot, an artist who forms the link between tradition and modernity. Other studies have included Monet, Renoir, the Delft Masters, Titian, Toulouse-Lautrec, Salvador Dali at his museum at Figueras, Turner and recently Edward Hopper and Chagall.

After working in water colour, acrylics and conventional oils, l have chosen water based oil paints as my medium.

As quoted by artist and tutor, Liam Thompson at an exhibition of my work: ”Ray has pioneered the use of new materials, experimenting with glazing mediums, brushes, palette knives, dilutants and other materials in the relatively new field of water based oil paint pigments in his search to find new means to express his many imaginative ideas.”
