Phillippa trained in Fine Art at Southampton and Exeter Colleges of Art in the late ‘60s and early ’70s. She worked as an art tutor (privately and for Kent Adult Education) for thirty years and enjoyed watching her students’ skills develop and flourish whilst extending her own practical knowledge and expertise.

Using this experience she is now taking her career in a new direction as a fulltime artist and hopes to have fun ‘doing’ art for many more years to come.

She takes part (along with husband Terry and daughters Emily and Jessica) in the annual South East Open Studios event (www.seos-art.org) and is a member of the Folkestone Art Society and the Romney Marsh Art Society exhibiting regularly with them.

Phillippa’s work is a fusion of reality and imagination, characterised by a bold use of line and strongly influenced by her surroundings whether at home (on and around the Romney Marsh) or away.
