Peter Wait

Peter was born in Gloucestershire in 1927 and is a highly accomplished painter, writer, poet and lecturer.

He trained in painting and studied History of Art, Aesthetics and Philosophy and Psychology of Art at Gloucestershire, London and Liverpool Art Colleges.

His early work, as many successful painters, was of an academic style gradually moving into impressionism. His present work is in a subject recognisable abstract manner but he modestly admits that he can paint in any style required to suit the subject or mood.

His work exists in many Private Collections here and overseas and has had a vast number of One Man Exhibitions in the UK.

He was at one time Chairman of Bromley Arts Society and other art associated subjects. For many years he was Chairman of Bromley Arts Council of which he is now a Vice President.

He is still painting, writing and lecturing and hopes to find time to illustrate and share some of his whimsical poems in the near future.

His other interests include music (classical, contemporary and jazz), travelling and he also has a great enthusiasm for real ale.
